Partial listing of Gases and Vapors Detected HAZ-ALERT™ ![]() The HAZ-ALERT™ is a small, lightweight gas and temperature alarm that detects and sounds an alarm if any of 125 toxic/combustible gases or vapors are present. The automatic temperature sensor sounds an alarm if excess heat build-up occurs, such as in a heat stress situation. This alerts the wearer of impending danger. The emergency CALL FOR HELP ALARM is activated by pressing the button located on the front of the unit. This provides a loud (95 dBA) series of audio alert tones. The HAZ-ALERT™ is housed in a rugged, heavy polycarbonate case and is equipped with a grip clip and "D" ring for easy attachment to protective clothing. The GAS SENSOR is a broad band type MOS unit, a precision solid state mechanism. The optional temperature sensor is also a precision solid-state mechanism. The HAZ-ALERT™ may be attached to a line and lowered into manholes, storage tanks, well casings or other confined spaces. The device may be worn as a personal monitor when working in these types of environments and can be used to summon help by pressing the EMERGENCY CALL FOR HELP button. It is excellent for use as a personal heat stress alarm and can be used when decontaminating haz-mat suits to detect residual hydrocarbon materials.
SPECIFICATIONS
The Model C & C+ are highly sensitive hydrocarbon detectors. The Model C is a non-calibrated detector that is used primarily for arson investigation and where it is desirable to detect trace amounts of hydrocarbons. The Model C+ features both a high sensitivity mode and a calibrated mode of operation.
The Model C+ is used when it is desirable to know if a gas is explosive, and will only annunciate if the gas has exceeded the preset level of 10% of the LEL (test gas is methane). The Model C+ may also be calibrated to detect other gases and concentrations.
Both models easily detect fuel oil concentrations of less than 200 parts per million. These units come complete with storage case and battery charger.
The Model 850 Investigator's Aid is a rugged, non-calibrated detector which is excellent for detecting hydrocarbons/accelerants/gases. This unit will detect the presence of hydrocarbons that may be present at the fire scene and is equally effective as a general purpose gas detector. It incorporates advanced signal processing techniques which makes it one of the most effective and reliable survey tools available.
In addition to its uses in the arson investigation field, the Model 850 is an excellent tool for use in detecting:
The Model 851 Investigator's Aid is a rugged calibrated detector which is excellent for detecting hydrocarbons/accelerants/gases. This unit will detect the presence of hydrocarbons that may be present at the fire scene and is equally effective as a general purpose gas detector. It incorporates advanced signal processing techniques and features two modes of operation: a high sensitivity search mode for locating very small gas leaks, and a calibrated mode that indicates 0% to 100% of the LEL (methane is test gas).
In addition to its uses in the arson investigation field, the Model 851 is an excellent tool for use in detecting:
