Using revolutionary spread spectrum radio telemetry, combined with Grace Industries' space age solid state accelerometer, each high powered PA-1000™ transmitter will immediately relay the distress signal back to
Central Control indicating that an alarm condition exists. GEM System's™ SM-1000™ Command Receiver employs visual and audible warnings that an officer's PA-1000™ alarm has been activated.
During alarm conditions the post location(s) or name(s) of the personnel in distress are prominently displayed on the LCD Display Screen.
The distress signal can be manually activated using the EMERGENCY KEY, which will easily dislodge in the event of an attack or scuffle.
Using a standard optional feature, the PA-1000™ alarm automatically activates if the officer/employee is injured and ceases movement. A SILENT ALARM feature can be activated at the push of a button when discreet signaling is desired. This offers personnel 3 modes of emergency signaling:
Depending on the operational needs of the correctional facility, these 3 Alarm activation methods can be ordered in any combination.
Additionally, officers monitoring the GEM System, can easily determine the operational status of each PA-1000 Personal Body Alarm within the facility.
By utilizing a second portable SM-1000 Command Base, Emergency Response Team leaders can determine immediately if additional personnel are in distress. Team Leaders have indicated that this feature is invaluable during disturbances and other response situations.
