We have, however, attempted to obtain accurate and appropriate information regarding the status of 'auto-on' PASS devices that comply with NFPA Standard 1982, 1998 Edition. The information contained on this page is provided as a guideline for Fire Departments that are interested in applying for a grant award to obtain the following life safety products offered by Grace Industries, Inc.
PRODUCT ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION
Grace Industries has received a significant number of inquiries regarding the eligibility of stand-alone 'auto-on' PASS.
Personnel from the USFA and FEMA have been very responsive to our inquiries, and have been very conscientious in their
efforts to fully clarify the language of their Program Guidance. For the purposes of clarification the language regarding the priority
of integrated and/or automatic PASS devices, the following information was provided by the USFA and FEMA:
PROGRAM GUIDANCE (recently published):
"The Program Guidance and recently published indicates that due to the safety benefits for
firefighters, for applications that include PASS devices, FEMA will give priority to applications with integrated and/or
automatic PASS devices over applications with non-integrated PASS devices. Therefore stand-alone PASS devices that
comply with the 'auto-on' provision of NFPA Standard 1982, 1998 Edition, will be eligible for consideration for a grant award."
Both Grace Industries' T PASS 3 EvacuateTM System and GEM System T PASS IITM product lines are
in full compliance with NFPA Standard 1982 (1998 Edition) and provide the next generation of firefighter safety and
accountability. These systems are capable of providing automatic and continuous monitoring for up to 1,104 or 1,584 fire/rescue
personnel respectively.

GEM System with T PASS 3 EVACUATETM
The attached document is intended to assist you in applying for funding for
Grace Industries' GEM System featuring the T PASS IITM. This fully automated personnel accountability system
provides immediate notification, by name, of one or more firefighters in distress. Additionally, The T PASS 3
EVACUATETM system features the ability to send an Evacuation Signal to a single firefighter, a group of
firefighters, or all firefighters on the scene. The T PASS 3 EVACUATETM is a stand-alone 'auto-on'
PASS device that will meet or exceeds all requirements of NFPA 1982, 1998 Edition at time of delivery.
The system can process up to 1,104 unique identities.
